Strangely, some of the principles will even work for those who have a problem gain-ing weight. If you want to lose weight, we´ve all been told, you eat less healthy- dieting or you exercise more. What you eat minus what you burn off ends up as a lump of fat around your middle. To lose weight you need to take in less Calories than you burn up daily.

When you are doing absolutely nothing you burn up a basic amount healthy- dieting of energy just staying alive, called your basal metabolic rate, and this is measured as calories. Then on top of that is the energy that you consume doing any kind of movement or exercise. So ideally the energy that you need for your basal metabolic rate plus all your exercise, healthy- dieting should be equal to your food consumption.

For example your basal metabolic rate might be 1,500 calories and your exercise 800, total 2,300 calories. Now in this way of thinking, if Fred eats 2,500 calories per day he´ll gain 200 calories a day. That´s the notion that´s generally believed. healthy- dieting But it doesn´t quite work like that. For example, a piece of fruit is around 1 00 calories. If we eat 1 00 calories of food less every day, then by this reckoning you should have a deficit of around 40,000 calories a year. You´d lose 10 lbs in the healthy- dieting first year, 100 lbs after 10 years, and by 15 years you will have vanished completely!

Calories counting does not work well

Yet Dr. Michael Colgan, who works with Olympic athletes, found that some of his athletes were burning 7,500 calories, yet were only eating 3,500 calories, so healthy- dieting what is happening? That approach basically said that most people who have a weight problem have a blood sugar problem. They fail to keep their blood sugar level even and I think this is healthy- dieting a very important key.

If you wake up in the morning and need something sweet or a stimulant like tea or coffee, then your blood sugar level is low. When your blood sugar is too low you feel lethargic and hungry again. Both women did it for one month, then stopped for two weeks. Now they both lost 10 healthy- dieting lbs in ~ month, although one had been eating four times the calories. In the two weeks off the woman on the very low calorie diet gained 5lb (total weight loss 5lb) . The one on the blood sugar diet only gained 2 lbs (total weight loss 8lb) - nearly healthy- dieting double the weight loss on more than four times the calories.

In Ireland some researchers wanted to see whether this approach had any merit so they put a group of people on the slimming regime with weekly support and gave a group of people my regime (which includes supplements ) healthy- dieting . At the end of the 1 2 weeks the average weight loss was actually 2 lbs per person on the other slimming system. But more significant is how that weight loss came off.

There was a high initial weight loss but not a lot happen-ing afterwards.

There healthy- dieting is a simple and obvious reason for this. Your body uses carbohydrate s for fuel and a secondary back-up fuel called glycogen which is stored in the muscle cells and the liver. Your third back-up of fuels for energy is bodyfat. Now glycogen is stored with water so when you starve healthy- dieting yourself, you start to break down the glycogen to use it and you lose water and that´s why these diets can boast a 6 lb weight loss in the first week.
